What Is The Difference Between Massage Therapy & Reflexology? Massage Therapy is soft tissue manipulation which is applies to the whole body by palpating, elongating, petrissaging, and stretching of the soft tissue within the body's structure - dealing directly with the muscles and connective tissue to release toxins, increase circulation, and promote a feeling of well-being. As the toxins are flushed out of the muscle fibers, this process creates room for fresh blood, oxygen, and increases the lymph process, resulting in reduced muscular tension, relaxed state of mind, body, and spirit - some or all clothing is removed. Reflexology - is a modality where it is believed that the human body is mirrored on the feet. Reflexology uses finger/hand techniques to specific reflexes of the feet to encourage the body's innate wisdom to heal itself. These techniques include stretches, vibration, range of motion, and aromatic foot soak to encourage inner harmony and balance by assisting in releasing of toxins such as uric acid from the body. No clothing is removed except for shoes and stockings. Result ~ Total mind/body relaxation.
